陪同翻譯的事項有哪些需要注意的?

一、不管是新手還是老手的口譯員,在進(jìn)行陪同口譯的項目之前,一定要認真準備,熟悉需要翻譯的文件內容,思考可能涉及的相關(guān)領(lǐng)域知識。因為準備不充分、翻譯不流暢是口譯員最大的失誤。
1、 Interpreters, whether novice or experienced, must prepare carefully, be familiar with the contents of the documents to be translated, and think about the knowledge of relevant fields that may be involved before the project of accompanying interpretation. Because inadequate preparation and poor translation are the biggest mistakes of interpreters.
二、口譯員應該比客戶(hù)提前15-20分鐘到達,無(wú)論有何種情況都不應該遲到。如果遇到堵車(chē)或其他特殊情況耽誤,務(wù)必要給客戶(hù)打個(gè)電話(huà)解釋一下。
2、 The interpreter should arrive 15-20 minutes earlier than the client and should not be late in any case. In case of traffic jam or other special delays, be sure to call the customer to explain.
三、跟同聲傳譯不同,大部分陪同翻譯項目都是需要露面的,所以應該注意穿著(zhù),不能太隨便搭配,不能邋遢出場(chǎng)。作為陪同翻譯人員,需要跟隨在外賓的左右,所以最好穿正式的衣服。

四、陪同翻譯應該學(xué)會(huì )察言觀(guān)色。因為很多時(shí)候陪同翻譯要應付的不僅僅只是正式的談判場(chǎng)合?蛻(hù)既然雇傭你并支付一天的費用,肯定是希望你在生活的各個(gè)方面都給與幫助。比如:客戶(hù)看不懂菜譜、找不到洗手間、想要什么東西時(shí),翻譯都應該主動(dòng)上前詢(xún)問(wèn)是否需要幫助。

五、因時(shí)間有結余或者中間有比較長(cháng)的空閑時(shí)間的情況下,客戶(hù)私自要求譯員去周邊地區旅游及相關(guān)項目時(shí),其實(shí)是非常危險的,能避免應盡量避免,因為一來(lái)這類(lèi)項目不能保證付費,第二點(diǎn)也就是最重要的,譯員和客戶(hù)二者中任何一個(gè)人出現安全問(wèn)題,誰(shuí)也無(wú)法保證誰(shuí)也無(wú)法負責。確實(shí)無(wú)法避免的情況之下,應該在出發(fā)之前和客戶(hù)說(shuō)明相關(guān)情況,并找到第三方人員做證。

六、中國人一般都會(huì )認為“提錢(qián)傷感情”,而外國人則主張公事公辦。如果客戶(hù)堅持付費,一定要說(shuō)好是一次性付費還是按天付費。如果遮遮掩掩不敢明說(shuō),吃虧的還是自己。

七、一般情況下,翻譯公司都會(huì )在任務(wù)結束后一個(gè)月內將費用打到賬戶(hù)上,所以除了事先說(shuō)明是客戶(hù)當場(chǎng)付費,否則很少有在一周之內費用到賬的情況。

八、永遠不要拋開(kāi)介紹人直接聯(lián)系客戶(hù)。就算介紹人允許你這樣做,你也應該不時(shí)匯報一下該項目的情況和進(jìn)展,否則會(huì )給人留下一種“不懂事”或“忘恩負義”的不良印象。另外就是如果口譯項目是別人介紹的,收到錢(qián)后一定要通知介紹人一聲,介紹人不求你對他感恩戴德,但起碼應尊重人家的知情權,而且特別是因為中間出現任何問(wèn)題,往往還需要介紹人出面幫你解決。
8、 Never leave the introducer and contact the customer directly. Even if the introducer allows you to do so, you should report the situation and progress of the project from time to time, otherwise it will leave a bad impression of "ignorance" or "ingratitude". In addition, if the interpretation project is introduced by others, you must inform the introducer after receiving the money.
