減詞

減詞是指將原文中需要、而譯文中又不需要的詞語(yǔ)省去。

減省的詞語(yǔ)應是那些在譯文中保留下來(lái)反而使行文累贅嚕嗦、且不合漢語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言表達習慣的詞語(yǔ)。減詞一般用于以下兩種情況：一是從語(yǔ)法角度進(jìn)行減??；二是從修飾角度進(jìn)行減省。

英漢兩種語(yǔ)言在語(yǔ)法上差異較大，例如：英語(yǔ)有冠詞，而漢語(yǔ)卻沒(méi)有；英語(yǔ)重形合、連接詞較多，漢語(yǔ)重意合、連接詞較少；英語(yǔ)中介詞豐富，多達280多個(gè)，漢語(yǔ)中介詞則較少，只有3(世博北京翻譯公司)0來(lái)個(gè)；英語(yǔ)中經(jīng)常使用代詞，尤其是經(jīng)常使用人稱(chēng)代詞、關(guān)系代詞等，而漢語(yǔ)中代詞則用得較少；因此，英譯漢時(shí)可根據具體情況將冠詞、連接詞、介詞、代詞略去，使譯文練達曉暢。例如：

(8)The products should be sampled to check their quality before they leave the factory.

產(chǎn)品出廠(chǎng)前應該進(jìn)行抽樣檢查。

They mixed the sand with the black clay. The fourth child, still almost an infant, staggered about near his mother, plucking weeds slowly and offering them to his mother as gifts.

漢語(yǔ)中傾向于加范疇詞，還有一些較抽象的詞，有時(shí)本身沒(méi)有實(shí)質(zhì)的意義，翻譯時(shí)一般可以省去不譯。
